I liked what Twallan brought to the game making it more enjoyable (or playable for those who would never have been able to enjoy it without his mods). With Twallan retiring and no one (as far as I have seen) is even close to being on par with Twallan's mods, The Sims game looks grim.
Ya hear that EA: I am all for buying TS4, but I don't think I will stay with it long if you end up making it a big glitchy unplayable mess. Maybe look at what Twallan contributed to the game and incorporate that into TS4. I hope to plumbob that you don't make any more TS3 EPs or SPs because you want to milk the Cash Cow one last time cuz I definitely don't want to have to get excited for a pack that may just finally break my game. That also means no more patching. Twallan fixed everything so it can be left alone now. And whatever is not fixed, Shame on you EA! And yes, I was fully aware that Twallan had planned to retire, but it is a grim day in the Simming world when the best modder moves on to greener pastures. Twallan, well done and happy retirement!

Lest We Forget! I remember reading "In Flanders Fields" when I was in school and I remember when the center of the Poppies the veterans would sell were green for YEARS before changing it to it's proper color, black. I remember standing each day for "O Canada" every morning at school. I remember watching "All Quiet on the Western Front" and knowing that they weren't so different from us. I remember that Christmas was the day there was peace on the war front in 1914 and then in a small Cabin in 1944. They fought for their homelands, each believing they were just. They fought for their comrades and loved ones, and they fought for us, their descendants. I've been working a lot lately and haven't even had a chance to play Midnight Hollow really. But I am hoping that things will calm down a bit and I'll be in the mood again to play. I also haven't really felt like it. But I did restart the School of Editing again on the forums and I signed up for a new competition. Primadonna by Tacha on the forums. It is a high fashion competition. This is my new model and the mock assignment. Editing pictures. I just haven't felt like it or modelling for that matter. But with Halloween just around the corner (in a little over a month), I decided to make a new avi. The t-shirt was created by the owner of Jazz-Hands and can be found here: Emily the Strange which was the inspiration when I renamed my blog upon going to Weebly after moving away from SimsSanctuary at Webs.I'm pretty happy with how the picture turned out. Took a few hours, but I think it turned out good considering I am a bit rusty.
So I went out for my birthday last night with my girlies. Had a really great night, full of laughs, pools and drinking. I was the responsible reserved one and only had 2. But I had a lot of fun. My actually birthday is this Tuesday, same as Zeri. I feel like I have done a lot, but there is still some things I want to do. Maybe this year!
As for TS4, I am pretty excited about it. I haven't really posted anything just because I want to wait and see when we are closer to the finished product. But I am excited for CAS and Build Mode. I also heard the texturing wasn't done yet. The hair in the teasers were with Hair Version 1.5 and those in the SimsCamp are using 3.0 It'll be interesting to see what it looks like when it's closer to the release date. I am definitely going to start saving up for a new computer with better graphics. I am thinking a desktop in all honesty. I love my laptop, but I put more money than I wanted to to keep it running, so it's time for something different and at least with a desktop it is easier to upgrade. This just kinda came to mind. How many can guess correctly?
You see me nearly everyday. In my best moments I am a warm caress. In my weak moments I will leave you cold. To those I kiss To those I burn I'll play peek-a-boo with you all day Or be a constant. I'll be there when you awake even if it seems like I am not. What am I? That's what I want to do. I've just been too down/unmotivated to actually play. I've been spending loads of time looking for a new place to live. I think I found something. I'm going to check it out later tonight. Just have a couple of hours to kill first.
I forgot to mention I had a really nice time with my dad when he was visiting, and I am holding on to something that belonged to my great grandfather, so I was having a bit of a WHOA! feeling. It did make me miss my grandpa though. He was the only grandpa I had, cuz I do not count my step-grandfather as anything more than a perverted sleazeball. Anyway, Grandpa was AWESOME! He was so kind and fair and loving. Sometimes I wish he was here to talk to him. I never got to have any grown up conversations with him and I know he would have been the type of person that would have helped to mold me into the person I am/could be. Things at work are going pretty good. A few hiccups here and there but I'm trying to handle all the new responsibility and the added amount of associates. I am actually training one of my girls in my first department to take the reins a bit. She's doing such a fantastic job (as they all are) so I couldn't be more proud of my department. The new department I have is going to take more work, but I can handle it. My birthday's also coming up. In a few weeks I'll be 32. There are things that I want to accomplish and things I had hoped to accomplish and it's just funny to reflect and realize how quickly things can change. That starting on one path can lead you into a totally opposite or new direction. When I was in high school, we had gotten this agenda that had an envelope that was kind of like a time capsule. I had looked at it a few years ago and I realized how trivial the contents were. I think it would be nice to do something like that again. Not to mention taking up writing again. I used to write poetry all the time and stories and really, when is the last time I ever mentioned it? I dug out these old books I had. I think I'd really like to give it another go. I had always wanted to publish my novel or a collection of my own poetry. Then of course there is my simming time. I haven't even properly played Island Paradise lately or done photo shoots for my own enjoyment and to keep my editing skills up as well. I've been trying to figure out a way to get prints of some of my photos on the kiosk at the store using my USB, and nothing. It'd be nice to hang some of them. Still baking too. I made these smores cookies and rocky road squares. Work LOVED them lol, and some want the recipe or for me to make them this or that. If I could, I would open a little service to sell my baked goods, but our health regulations state no personal kitchens can be used for selling goods. Although something to think about 30 some years down the line when I am ready to retire. That's right. I now join the ranks of new drivers this summer. FINALLY! Now it is just a matter of having mom sign over the car to me. She is gifting me her old car as I one time gift to one of her children: A 2001 Echo. Nice little car for me. So Sunday I will be driving to see her as I don't have restrictions but she does. I have to drive for 40 or so minutes on the highway by myself, but I think I can manage it. I know where to go. It's basically straight down. She's going to sign over the car to me and then we just need to get my insurance sorted out.
I had called them to see what needs to be done as my mom is at work and they said they wouldn't insure me unless I had my license for 3 years, however, my mom got a quote from them. They are only willing to put me under her policy. But that affects her insurance and when I do get my own after 3 years, it will be like getting insurance for the first time which means paying more. Argh! They gave her a quote and have been hounding her about when they can switch it over for me so, I dunno what's up with that. Main thing, I have my license and once we get the registration and insurance taken care of (and the ownership of course) I am good to go. I can still drive it now, as she has me on her insurance to be a driver for the car. I also have enough money to put down a yearly insurance payment on the car. So excited! Gah, it is driving me crazy. I really wanna play but after getting the game when it was released on Tuesday I haven't been able to play . .at all!
I've been busy working and my next day off isn't until Tuesday. I am luckily finished with all of my competitions I was currently in. Just waiting for results on two, although one may be awhile as Vid is having some computer issues so I am not too worried about that one. I know she'll have them up when ready. Photogenic I am anxious about. I have been in the Top 2 throughout the entire competition so I really want to show off my achievement for that one as I hardly ever am lol. So once I get IP installed, I will be removing all of my poses and anything I don't need and just running CC Skin, Eyes, a few hairs and clothes and Twallan's Mods and a Weather Mod. The rest will be added back the next time I join a competition. I am going to take a break though, I really want to focus on the Just Sims Magazine, hosting my own Competition and getting back to work on my Castaway story. I have the pictures and I am far ahead in the game, just haven't had a chance to really sit down and write out the next 3 parts. I am going on Vacation starting July 6th, so I will have more time to play in between visiting with Dad who I haven't seen in 5+ years. I can't wait to really sit down and play and really explore the new stuff. I've been avoiding the threads. Plus the bonus is I have the Limited Edition so the Castaways are going to get a more realistic setting! Congrats on the job Vid and welcome to the World of Retail. It's pretty fun, especially seeing all the new product coming in. I will say this though: Bite your tongue; take the high road; and smile . .A LOT! It helps! Working in retail often results in Drama with co-workers! And the easiest way to diffuse an upset customer is to listen to them, empathize, and help them to the best of your ability. Take care of the customer as much as you can, because at the end of the day, they are the reason you get paid.
The nice thing is once you get your feet wet, and you see all the departments and what they carry, as long as you are that person who is always available, and always reliable (the one the managers can rely on the most) the doors to new opportunities will open for you. Good luck Vid! |
